Last week we spent a fantastic few days showing our new installation collection as part of the Tent exhibition at London Design Fair. The show is a mecca for designers and buyers from all over the world and this year was no exception. The standard of the show is incredibly high, with premium brands displaying their work along side smaller independent artists and makers like us.
We needed to bring our 'A' game and so excitingly revealed our new metallics designs at the show. Alongside our Tyvek folded swathes we incorporated geometric designs using copper, gold and silver papers.
After weeks of cutting, scoring and folding , folding, folding we installed our bespoke work over the course of a day on site, tailoring our designs to fit the stand we had, hoping to attract visitors in to experience the folds for themselves.
And It really did. The work shimmered in under the lights and came alive as show visitors came to the stand - the constantly moving reflections it created were really rather beautiful and we realised how wonderfully the metallics would be for mesmerising retail window displays on busy high streets.
We had some great conversations with architects, designers and buyers from the world of retail, fashion and design which is always brilliant. To get their feedback on our work is such reassurance that we're developing ideas that can be used and admired beyond a gallery. We were also paid a visit by super photographer Matthew Booth who we have to thank for the lovely shots of the stand in this post.
